We work hard to make each shotgun we produce unique.
So when our customers and friends come to visit our workshop, the first thing we do is measure the stock.
If they can't come in person, they send us their measurements and other details we need to prepare a personal file.
The next stage involves fitting the barrel exactly with the frame, the true sidelocks and the forend and positioning the automatic ejector and the easy-opener.
>This whole process is carried out by hand in the best tradition of fine craftsmanship.
We then tailor-make the stock, using blocks of walnut wood from Turkey, Ukraine, Armenia, the USA, Spain, France and other countries.
Before oiling and stippling the gun, we check that the stock and forend are properly built, and the gun then receives a final sanding.
Another important part of fine gun making is the engraving: our master engravers decorate the action, sidelocks and barrels to designs which can be chosen from our catalogue or made to the customer's own specifications.
Most of our shotguns are engraved following a preselected model, but on occasions we also make special engravings, with designs of birds, deer and other animals on our Express rifles depending on the calibre and our customer's own requirements.
In the final stage of the arming and mounting process, our master armourers check and fit all parts to make sure that the gun is perfectly adjusted.
The sidelocks with the requested weight? a perfect fit? and one last inspection of all the details.
This is perhaps the most complicated phase of the whole process of making a fine crafted shotgun; all the component parts must fit perfectly, so that the gun becomes a true work of art.
Finally our shotguns are presented in leather trunk cases with a cover. Most of our customers at home and abroad ask for pairs, threes or other combinations of guns.
